Program Description:
Kings County Health Department provides a continuum of services beginning with confidential HIV testing, voluntary partner notification assistance and risk reduction education. Prevention education is directed to those populations at highest risk for HIV infection. For those infected, assistance is available through the Kings County Care Program. This is a multidisciplinary program designed to meet the special needs of the HIV positive client and his or her family. Sole qualifying criteria for enrollment is current residency in Kings County. Benefits assistance, psychosocial counseling, and early medical intervention are offered. Financial assistance available to those who meet eligibility criteria. Education, medications, nutritional counseling and access to various other community resources are coordinated.
HIV prevention education targets high risk populations within Kings county. Prevention strategies include group presentations to high risk populations, as well as one-on-one intervention. Spanish speaking educators are available.

Monday - Walk-ins,
Wednesday - by appt.,
Thursday - by appt.,
Friday - AM walk-ins PM - by appt. at the Health Department Clinic in Hanford. An HIV Testing van travels to other areas of the county. Spanish speaking counselors are available. Call the Health Department for clinic schedule. Counselors are trained to provide risk reduction education and assistance with voluntary partner notification.
