Lassen County is located in northeastern California , where the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountains meet the desert of the Great Basin . Lassen County has a population of 34,661 people. With only 7.42 people per square mile. This frontier rural county has many beautiful lakes rivers and national forest land. We are part of a Five County HIV Prevention Project and HIV/AIDs Care & Treatment Programs.

Program Description:
Staff provides HIV Education & Outreach to incarcerated men and women. Services are also provided to youth at Lassen County Juvenile Hall. HIV antibody testing and counseling is available at our Health Department in Susanville. Joanna Zimmermann is our HIV/AIDS Coordinator, our Testing and counseling Coordinator. She also Coordinates the EIP program, ADAP program, CMP program, Surveillance, E&P program and the Title111 and Rayan White program.

Program Description:
HIV Education & Outreach to incarcerated men at the California Correctional Center State Prison, Crossroads Ministries various schools and the women's shelter. Lassen County Health Department Monday-Friday. Informational booths are set up at county fairs, health fairs and other community events. We offer STD testing, TB testing and referral at our Health Department.

Program Description:
Provides case management, referrals and practical support for clients with HIV/AIDS. Services include: volunteer buddy program to provide practical support; support groups for people with HIV/AIDS and their significant others; case management and referrals to appropriate agencies; physician referrals; limited emergency funds; food bank; speakers bureau for AIDS education; condom distribution; Teen Peer Educator Training Program.
