HIV/AIDS education for these target populations: at risk youth, substance abusers, MSM, and the general public. Services also provided at the County Jail and California Youth Authority (CYA). Program Description:
Education & Prevention is conducted through three community based organizations in addition to San Joaquin County Public Health Department. Target populations include men having sex with men, substance users and their partners and at-risk youth. Education for gay men is conducted through bars, public places, gay events and support groups. The substance users component targets injection drug users, non-injection drug users and alcoholics. Education for at-risk youth is conducted at alternative school sites, runaway shelters, coffee houses, Juvenile Hall, migrant camps and street outreach. Education is provided through site activities, County Jail, beauty shops and shelters.

Provides HIV education to at-risk youth at Alternative and Continuation schools, San Joaquin County Adolescent Family Life Program, street outreach and HIV testing. Distribution of condoms and educational materials. Provides HIV education and testing to substance users, sex workers, homeless individuals through street outreach. Sites include parks, motels, under bridges and identify areas where they congregate. Distribution of condoms and bleach kits with educational materials. Provide referral to drug treatment programs, meal programs and other medical and social services programs. Provides HIV education and testing to the MSM/bisexual population at the local gay bar. Distribution of condoms & lube and educational materials at different activities sponsored by the gay community.

Comprehensive HIV education for youth and the gay community. HIV/AIDS education for at risk youth, substance abusers and men having sex with men; and the general public. Provides HIV education to at-risk youth at Alternative and Continuation schools and community centers. Street outreach and HIV testing. Distribution of condoms and educational materials. Provides HIV education and testing to substance abusers, sex workers, homeless individuals through street outreach. Distribution of condoms and bleach kits withd education materials. Provides referral to drug treatment programs, meal programs and other medical and social services programs. Provides HIV education and testing to the MSM bisexual population at the local gay bar and parks. Provides education and information via online chat rooms to the gay community. Provides anonymous HIV testing Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
