TEHAMA COUNTY   Tehama County, situated in the Sacramento Valley, 120 miles north of Sacramento, is surrounded by snow-covered mountains including majestic Lassen Peak with its still active volcano in Lassen National Vocanic Park, imposing Mt. Shasta, and the rugged alpine-looking Trinity Mountain Range. For the angler, the Sacramento River runs right through Red Bluff and, along with its many feeder streams, creeks, sloughs, offers fishing for everyone; from shad to trout; from fighting steelhead to king salmon. A wealth of great fishing opportunities, along with hiking, horseback riding, camping, picnicking, boating and hunting can be found in Tehama County. There is never a dull moment with events that include the largest two day rodeo in the nation.

Program Description:
The AIDS Education and Prevention (AIDS E&P) Program Strives to provide HIV/AIDS education to at-risk groups in Tehama County and as a result, increase basic HIV/AIDS knowledge, increase testing among these groups and decrease high-risk behaviors. The target groups for this program include: Youth between the ages of 12 and 24; Injection Drug Users/Substance Users (IDU/SU); Incarcerated Persons; General Population; and People of Color. Tehama County AIDS E&P Program is a coordinating agency for Positively Speaking. This is a statewide program that trains individuals infected/affected by HIV to schools and other groups. As a coordinating agency, AIDS E&P assists with the recruitment and training of speakers as well as networking with schools and other groups in order to schedule presenters. In addition to providing group HIV/AIDS 101 presentations and risk reduction skills trainings to the above listed target populations, program staff conduct community outreach and take referrals for one-on-one education.
