Materials Development Trainings and Grants

Materials Development Workshop (MDW)

Our Materials Development Workshop is part of our Technical Assistance program which was created to ensure that service providers who reach target populations at high-risk for HIV transmission are able to respond to current prevention needs with materials that appropriately support their intervention and reflect the values and culture of that population

The program goal is to facilitate the production of materials that support the program's current intervention efforts and provide information based on clients needs and not personal opinions or biases.

The two main activities of the workshop are learning how to succinctly compose a materials development project objective based with a clear understanding of a programs target population and a hands-on exercise in creating a mock draft of an HIV/AIDS education and prevention material

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to compose a materials development objective using a suggested template, clearly describe an intended target population and their educational needs and differentiate between concepts and messages.

This workshop experience can assist an organization in deciding whether to pursue the CAC Materials Development Mini-Grant or through other funding sources.
